Survey, Polls, and the Like - Part 2

Well as many of you probably noticed I added a new feature to my blog about a month ago. It's the poll that you see to the right of the screen asking for your rating of my blog. Well I figured since over fifty people have voted I should go ahead and comment. First of eighteen people said they thought my blog is terrible which is one third of those who voted. Then another 15 people said they thought it is poor while 13 said they thought it was okay. Only eight of the 54 people thought it is excellent which is 14%. So my question is "Why?". Those of you who said any of the first three let me know how you think I can improve. And those 8 who said they thought it was excellent let me know why as well. Of course feel free to comment anonymously. I guess for my self I would have to rate it between Okay and Poor just because I know I could do better. So please let me know. Thanks.

Who do you Hate?

A sunday school teacher began his class with this question "Who do you hate the most?" He then placed a dart board at the front of the classroom on which he had drawn the rough outline of a face. He turned to his class and passed out one dart to each person. He then told them to picture the face of the person that had hurt them the most as the face on the dart board. Then he told them to each take a turn throwing their dart at that face. Each student did with many throwing their dart with all the force the could. It felt good just to relieve some of that pain and hurt. When each was back in their seat and feeling a little better the teacher walked over to the dart board. He romoved the paper with the face outline and as he did the class saw to their shock and horror the face of Jesus. But the picture of their Saviours face was torn in many places. An eye had a hole where a dart had made it's mark and both cheeks were badly disfigured. The teacher then quoted Jesus words "as you have done it unto one of the least of these, you have done it to me."

I heard this on the radio and really liked it so I figured I'd post it. It has some problems theologically but makes a good point. " A man was talking to God. He asked Him 'Is it true that a million years is like a second to you?' God replied 'Yes'. The man continued 'And is it true that a million dollars is like a penny to you?' God replied 'Yes'. Then the man said, "Well could you just give me a penny?' 'Sure' God replied, 'In just a second'."

"The problem in America is that we have the Bible in our homes, but not in our hearts."~ Chip Ingrem I would agree with this but I would go further and say "The problem with Christians in America is that we have the Bible in our heads, but not in our hearts." We know all the right answers but do we live it? We have the head knowledge but is it in our hearts? We talk the talk but do we walk the walk?

2009 in Review

For me 2009 was a year that I could not really call a "good year" or a "bad year". There were many happy things that happened like my sister Joy's birth in March. But there were also sad things like my Grandmother's death from cancer in May. There were difficult things like opening an ice cream shop. And there were also exiting things like finding and joining a new church (Millard Alliance Church). I began this blog which has been a good learning experience. I took some college tests which was very fun but at the same time difficult. We had a house renovation which practically took all year. I learned alot form that and other work I did. So for me 2009 was an interesting year and definitely one that I won't soon forget.
