The Living Gospel

I recently came across this quote which is attributed to one of the early church leaders;

"Preach the Gospel, if necessary, use words."

This quote reminded me of another saying which is;

"Christians are the only Bible that many unbelievers will read."

Our primary purpose as Christians is to preach the gospel.  But so often we fail to remember that we are preaching that gospel in all that we do.  How you behave in public speaks volumes to those around you about just what your faith is really about.  Christ commissioned us to go into the world and preach the gospel, however that preaching does not cease when we are merely eating at a restaurant or shopping at Wal Mart.  It is a daily, minute by minute act whereby we proclaim God's love to the world.

Miss America 2011

It's been a few months since I've posted mainly because I've been busy with law school (especially with midterms coming up). So instead of writing an entire post I thought I would just throw out a topic for some discussion.
Recently Miss Nebraska (Teresa Scanlan) was crowned the 2011 Miss America. She is the first Miss Nebraska to be crowned as Miss America and the youngest Miss America (age 17) in the past twenty some years.

Now usually I would not give this a second thought. However I recently heard that she plans to attend Patrick Henry College. So I decided to do a little more research into her background. I discovered that she was home schooled through the tenth grade, is one of seven children, and very outspoken about her Christian faith.

One article I read had a quote from her in which she said that she felt the pageant was were God wanted her and said that she would always pray while getting ready for pageants.

She plans to attend PHC and then go on to pursue a degree in law.

So what do you all think?  She is quite obviously seeking to glorify God in this "field" that she is in.  So do you all think this is a field Christians should be involed in?  What are you thoughts?
